Commentary

Xuanzhong is the Hui-Meeting point of the marrow.

A Hui-Meeting point is where the Qi of specific structures of the body gathers and collects. Xuanzhong is strongly indicated for all disharmonies involving the bones, and ligaments including flaccidity, contracture, atrophy, pain in the limbs, broken limbs (to speed healing) and lameness.

Xuanzhong is the main distal point for disorders of the neck region both acute and chronic including stiffness and inability to turn or nod, by virtue of the fact the Gallbladder channel runs through the neck.
