Commentary:
Rugen is the point of choice
for all manner of breast problems. It is particularly
useful to promote lactation.
Since Rugen is located on the
Stomach Channel, and a branch of the Liver Channel
passes through the nipple, it is considered that all
disorders of the breast result from disharmonies of
these two channels.
Breast problems may result from deficiency
in the Stomach/Spleen, failing to properly nourish
the breast, or from stagnant Liver Qi, failing to
promote the free flow of Qi in the breast.
Nursing mothers are especially prone
to breast disorders. If one holds a grudge, or is
angry, the Liver Qi stagnates
and milk will cease to flow freely. If a nursing mother
worries or over-thinks, Spleen Qi stagnates
and spoils the milk. This is why, both during pregnancy,
and while nursing, for the health of the child, it
is extremely important that woman's spirit remains
calm.
In all cases, Rugen is indicated.
