The Monkey
Original Drawing by Shi-He Wang
The Monkey is intelligent, manipulative and exhibits a high
level of dexterity.
If the Monkey is not manually gifted, he can manipulate language
and ideas with equal dexterity.
Sometimes, the Monkey can be too clever for its own good, weaving
a tangled web of confusion. At its worst, the Monkey can be
vain, untrustworthy, and decidedly immature.
Monkeys are extremely resourceful, full of humour, and tend
to be unconventional.
While undoubtedly gifted, they often lack sufficient self-esteem
to follow up on their good ideas.
In the right relationship though, the resourceful Monkey would
greatly benefit from encouragement and assistance.
How the Monkey relates to;
The Rat; The Monkey and the Rat may travel different routes,
but they are going to the same place. Each has their own way
of tackling projects, but work well together. Whether in romance
or business this is a fruitful union.
The Ox; The stable and ever reliable Ox tends to frown on the
hyper active Monkey, thinking much of the activity is unnecessary.
The Ox is somewhat less than supportive of the Monkey's antics.
Still, the Ox can be a much needed steadying influence.
The Tiger; According to an ancient Chinese proverb, it is best
for the Monkey to tread carefully in the vicinity of a Tiger.
The male Monkey should definitely give the female Tiger a wide
berth.
The Rabbit; The Monkey just may be taking on more problems
with a Rabbit partner, when he has more than he can handle of
his own. Still if one insists, third party counseling is recommended
for this union to succeed.
The Dragon; There is great respect for each other as well as
great self-awareness in this pair. They have much to offer each
other and this union will be intensely passionate and active.
An auspicious union.
The Snake; The passive Snake may not be the best partner for
the hyper active Monkey. There is a tendency to confuse the
important and the trivial, and a reluctance to pick up the pieces
when things go wrong, which they sometimes do.
The Horse; the Horse actually is an ideal partner for the Monkey.
They are sociable, and enjoy each other thoroughly. Their relationship
is based on trust, admiration, and companionship.
The Sheep; this is a union marked by the absence of anything
resembling excitement. Each comes from very different backgrounds
and has very different aspirations. Not an auspicious union.
The Monkey; Two Monkeys together is the very definition of
fun. While the bonds between them may not be the strongest,
the affection runs very deep. Like the proverbial 'barrel of
Monkeys, this is a happy, hectic existence, full of joy.
The Rooster; A very auspicious union. These two are destined
for extraordinary success no matter what they try.
The Dog; The Dog provides a supportive, like-minded partner
who values companionship. There is a strong bond between these
two, despite occasional differences. Once involved separation
is painful for both.
The Pig; The Pig is not the most agreeable partner the Monkey
could find, especially over domestic affairs.
