The Rooster
Original Drawing by Shi-He Wang
The Rooster is the 10th sign of the Zodiac.
If you were born between September 7 and October 7, you are
influenced by the Rooster
If you were born between the hours of 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm you
are influenced by the Rooster.
The Rooster is closely associated with the enjoyment of all
the arts, music, literature.
The Rooster is decidedly Yin (feminine), no doubt representing
the Yang within Yin idea of a single rooster servicing an entire
henhouse.
Continuing with that idea, even though feminine in nature, this
is a remarkably strong sign indicating a forceful character.
The Rooster has a strong emotional nature, a strong love of
social activity, and somewhat fearless in presenting a point
of view.
Roosters have a good business sense, probably because wealth
is a good path to being able to enjoy the fine arts.
Roosters can be difficult to be around because of their tendency
to brag and nit pick. At their worst they are braggarts and
not to be trusted.
How the Rooster relates to;
The Rat; While these two are very much attracted to each other,
each has very different goals and paths to attaining those goals.
It is good to have an escape plan. The Rooster may feel the
Rat doesn't contribute enough, while the Rat may feel the Rooster
demands too much.
The Ox; The Ox is an ideal partner for the Rooster. However,
the Ox may be pretty much set in its ways, while the Rooster
likes the excitement of change from time to time. If the Ox
is willing to the follow the Rooster's lead at times, this could
be an auspicious union.
The Tiger; These are two very strong willed individuals determined
to have their own way. Without complete honesty and a lot of
giving, this will not be a happy union.
The Rabbit; These two do not communicate well with each other,
nor is the bond between them particularly strong. While each
may suffer anguish, they never seem to be able to air their
differences. An inauspicious union.
The Dragon; These two are so unpredictable, strong willed,
and financially inept, it is a wonder if the union survives.
The Snake; The Snake just may be the ideal partner for the
Rooster. Both enjoy and pursue the finer things in life. Yet
their tastes are sufficiently different that each is an ongoing
source of surprise and delight to the other. While each has
a strong streak of independence, they are bound by a mutual
admiration and affinity, with the ability to express that independence
within the bounds of the relationship.
The Horse; While the Horse and the Rooster are two very lively
characters, it is better if they do not know too much about
each other. The old saying 'familiarity breeds contempt' applies
here.
The Sheep/Goat; This is an auspicious union, if somewhat unconventional.
The traditional roles of breadwinner and homemaker may be reversed
in this union. These two will be happy together nevertheless.
The Monkey; The Rooster is so close to the Monkey they are
like opposite poles of the same magnet. These two are so attracted
to and interested in each other, they can barely stand to be
separated. As such they may contrive to not only live together,
but work together, and socialize together. These two have the
ability to intimately understand each other and quickly resolve
any differences that may arise.
The Rooster; Two Roosters in the same henhouse causes chaos.
This is not an auspicious union. There will be so much competition
between them that they both forget why a henhouse has a Rooster.
The Dog; On the surface this seems like a happy union, but
down deep these are two very different signs. The Dog may be
perfectly happy to stay at home enjoying the mundane things,
while the Rooster clearly prefers to go out and enjoy the finer
things not found at home.
The Pig; This is a happy and contented relationship. Both enjoy
the finer things, and especially a stable and well ordered home
within which to enjoy the finer things. Family life is relaxed
and tranquil. These two also make ideal business partners as
each sees beyond the mere making of money to the kind of life
wealth brings.
